Significant Achievements

ASON has been contracted on numerous occasions, particularly by the Spanish Air Force, to update existing engine test facilities with the latest real time Data Acquisition technology resulting in a significant reduction in operational costs and just as importantly, increased asset availability. ASON has also embodied major modifications at the Customers request to improve the facility's capability. Some significant achievements in the Company's history include the following:

1996

Design and construction of a post-overhaul testing facility for two versions of the Allison T56 engine (C-130 Hercules and P3 Orion) using a waterbrake dynamometer at the Spanish Air Force Maintenance Depot at Sevilla.

1998

Refurbishment and updating to modern standards of the engine test facility at the Spanish Air Force Basic Academy to enable a variety of engines to be tested.

1999

Total refurbishment of the Allison T56-A-15LFE mobile test rig for propeller testing at Zaragoza Air Base. The refurbishment included a new engine support frame, and a new control cabin with a Data Acquisition System.

2000

Modification of the Rolls Royce Pegasus test bench at the Naval Base at Rota. The modification included new instrumentation and the latest generation Data Acquisition System.

2001

Design and provision of a new control console and testing equipment at the Spanish Air Force Depot, Madrid, to provide a testing capability for the CT7 engine fitted to the CASA 235 transport aircraft.

2002

Relocation and commissioning of the GE F404 test facility at Torrejon Air Base. The project also required the design, production and installation of latest generation equipments.
